We are leaving for the Three-Day Kalambaka Meteora Excursion 08.00 the Morning from Omonia. We make an intermediate stop for a coffee at the height of Lamia and then we take the road to Lake Plastira, where it got its name from the great Politician Nikolaos Plastiras. Plastiras was the initiator of the construction of the dam 1920-1930 at an altitude of 850m. and has an area of approx 25.000 acres. There we will have free time at our disposal to enjoy our lunch at Lamperou beach. Later we continue to Kalambaka where we will settle in the hotel rest and have dinner. In the evening you can visit the nice shops of the city on your own. Overnight.
After breakfast we depart for Kalambaka. An optional visit to the mushroom museum follows. The Museum includes a rich collection of birds and mammals, It is (The first of its kind in Greece). Inside, the Museum houses approx 350 species of animals and 250 types of mushrooms. Then we leave for Meteora, located in the northwestern part of the Thessalian plain. Meteora is a unique travel destination whatever time of year you visit. Additionally The 1988 Meteora was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Τα Βράχια των Μετεώρων ξεπερνούν σε ύψος τα 600 meters. Εκεί βρήκαν καταφύγιο πολλοί ερημίτες ιδρύοντας μια από τις σημαντικότερες μοναστηριακές κοινότητες της Ελλάδας. So enjoying the Meteora route, we arrive at the monastery of Agios Stefanos. The Monastery was founded by Antonio Kantakouzenos 1400 A.D.. Μετά από το χρόνο μας στο μοναστήρι συνεχίζουμε για την Καλαμπάκα, με ελεύθερο χρόνο για μεσημεριανό γεύμα , βόλτα η και καφέ με (Individual expenses). Finally we return to our Hotel for rest and Overnight.
After breakfast we depart for the magical Resorts of Pindos. Following a wonderful route we end up at the gate where we will make a stop at the single-arched bridge of Agios Bessarion to capture the moment with a photo. For those who wish, they can visit the Byzantine church of the 12th century Porta Panagia. Then passing through the Gate we will reach Elati. Elati is a beautiful mountain village built amphitheatrically in a forest of fir trees. There we will have time for lunch. Then we take the return road with an intermediate stop at the height of Lamia and then we end up in our Athens.
