We leave for the Four-Day Ioannina Excursion at Easter 08.00 in the morning from Omonia with destination Ioannina via Rio-Antirio. Through our necessary intermediate stops, arrival in the beautiful city of Epirus, with traditional buildings and unexpected colored touches . Check in at our hotel and then free time for our lunch with (Individual expenses) and boat ride to the small island where the house-museum of Ali Pasha is located. In the evening we will watch the epitaph in a nearby church from our hotel and afterwards (optional) lunch in a local tavern of the area with fasting dishes. Finally return to our hotel and stay overnight.
Breakfast and departure for the villages of Western Zagori. Stop in Kolymbithres for commemorative photos and we continue to Papigo, where we will admire the view of Astraka (peak of Tymfi). The traditional settlements of Papigos and Mikros Papigos are two of the most beautiful and most touristic destinations in this region of Epirus. Walk the narrow stone cobblestones and enjoy the smells and views of the rare natural scenery. Flowery courtyards and picturesque cobblestones create a magical image. There we will have free time for a walk and (optional) meal. Return in the afternoon to the hotel unit and free time for rest. In the evening we will attend the Divine Liturgy of the Resurrection in a nearby church and then we will go to a local tavern by the lake for our Resurrection dinner with traditional cooking. Return and overnight stay.
After breakfast we leave for Metsovo. The green slopes of Pindou above the Metsovitiko River and the Vlach Kefalochori have left their mark on the travel map of mountainous Greece. Houses built with traditional Epirus architecture, between cobblestones, downhill streets and shops with traditional woodwork products and local textiles are what await us in Metsovo. Free time for a walk and coffee and at noon we will enjoy our Festive Easter meal in a tavern in the center of Metsovo. In the afternoon we will return to Ioannina, free time for rest and overnight stay.
After breakfast we depart for Acheron where we will have free time for coffee and activities on the river (horseback riding,rafting,archery). At noon we will depart for cosmopolitan Parga where we will have time for lunch. Then we take the way back, through Rio – Antirrio and with intermediate stops we arrive in Athens with the best impressions from the 3-day excursion to Ioannina at Easter
