We are leaving for the New Year Excursion 2025 in Ioannina 07.30 the Morning by consensus. We make a short stop in Kiato and continue to Rio Antirrio. This is followed by an optional visit to the Vrellis wax museum, with unique historical exhibits that come to life before your eyes. In the museum, unique historical exhibits from the hidden school are revived, the prison of Kolokotronis up to the assassination of Ali Pasha on the island of Mrs. Frosyn. After a short journey through history we visit Ioannina. This is followed by boarding on one of the boats of Lake Ioannina, so that we pass opposite to the famous Island of Ali Pasha and Kyra Frosyne. On the island we will have time to explore the area, to visit (optionally) the house of Ali Pasha and to see unique marine species that live in the lake and are housed in aquariums in the area in front of the taverns ( eels, crayfish, frogs and whatnot). We return to Ioannina suggesting you an optional visit to the city's castle containing the Fetihe Mosque, the Tomb of Ali Pasha and the Byzantine Museum. The Museum of Silversmithing , in Its Kale and the Acropolis of Ioannina would also be one of the unique exhibits you could visit. After a satisfying day we end up at our hotel Alexios hotel 3 in the center of Ioannina to arrange the rooms. In the evening follows dinner and overnight stay.
After our breakfast we leave for Konitsa. Our first stop is Burazani, an area rich in flora and fauna. There the waters of Voidomatis and Sarandaporos meet. Next is the village of Molyvdoskepasti, built slope of Mount Mertika. In Molyvdoskepasti we visit the monastery of Panagia, one of the most important monuments of the 7th century located four hundred meters from the Greek-Albanian border. Then we visit the town of Konitsa. In Konitsa we will make an optional visit to the house of Agios Paisios. The Monastery is built on a cobblestone, in the center of Konitsa, Ioannina, where he lived since he was a child. As soon as you enter the well-kept yard you feel a strange peace. In the interior of the house you will see the hall, a small living room and a room. The whole family slept there. Free time for coffee and food follows. The area of Konitsa has many stone bridges, one of them is the single-arched bridge that was built 1870- 71 and has dimensions 36 measures opening and 20 meters high. Finally in the late afternoon we return to Ioannina. Dinner and overnight stay.
After our breakfast, we leave for Trikala. The City is Decorated and the famous Elf Mill awaits you to enjoy the most magical time of the year together, at Christmas. Those who have visited Trikala during the Christmas season in recent years, they will certainly have been found in the Mill of the Elves, the largest free Christmas theme park in Greece. Every year it takes its visitors to a fairytale dimension, giving millions of smiles, for young and old with unique activities and countless surprises. Through the Legend of the Christmas Knight, the peaceful and gentle Knights will tell us a special, humane and touching story with values and ideals for man and the environment. We will have free time for sightseeing and lunch at one of the many restaurants in the old town. Finally we will take the road back to our Athens with a stop for coffee at the height of Lamia.
