We depart for the One-day excursion to the Patras carnival from Omonia 8:00 in the morning. Our first stop is at the height of Kiatos with time for coffee and breakfast. Then we leave for Patras to enjoy the Patras carnival. The Patras carnival is the biggest and oldest carnival event in Greece, Considered one of the largest events in the world in terms of carnival participation and its history. In Patras and the Carnival We will have free time to get to know the beautiful city that moves in a Carnival rhythm and have lunch in one of the local restaurants (at personal expense). The Patras Carnival is not a single event but a set of events that this year will include dances by independent groups of carnivalists that will be rampant in the city. We will also admire the most beautiful carnival floats and after we become a group we will all dance together. Then we will take the way back to Athens with the best impressions.
I choose one One-day trip in the Patras Carnival because it is one mbig parade that takes place on the last Sunday and is known all over the world, parades consist of 35.000 carnivalesque around with carnival dances and singing. The Patras Carnival is an event for young and old because it includes various types of games such as the hidden treasure game. Crews on Carnival are approx 90 along with that of the Children who are round at 11.000. In Patras we will meet the Panhellenic Satire and Amateur Theater Festival, Exhibitions, tribute to Cinema and other unique events.
On the last weekend of Halloween, the parade culminates with ghostly floats and crews made up of Patrines, Patrinos and visitors to the Patrinos Carnival (people of all ages)
The Patras Carnival counts 190 years of history and its creation is due to a mixture of various cultural elements: ancestral carnival customs of the Greek area and of Patras , influences from Western Europe and especially Italy and the neighboring Ionian Islands, innovations that emerged during carnival celebrations in Patras
