The Castorio is a settlement of Laconia. In Kastoreio there are many gorges through which its waters spring Taygetou. In the canyons we find ruins of old colonies and settlements. We also come across watermills, hydroelectric plants, caves, small waterfalls and beautiful forests.
The canyon that stretches out in front of us has a wild beauty but also hides some dangers. After we start from Georgitsi we face it Beaver from above. Then taking the path in the gorge you will come across ruins of old Mills and you will end up in the oasis under the bridge of Kastoriou.

We're leaving 06.50 in the morning from Constitution and 07.00 from Concord with a stopover and time for coffee and breakfast at Spathovuni. After enjoying the beautiful route alongside the traditional villages and nature we end up in the magical Castorio. This mountain treasure is a picturesque village with a beautiful square at a height 500 meters. It is actually located in its northern part Taygetou and the prefecture Laconia. The village has restaurants with traditional dishes, cafes and shops where you can get traditional products such as (Fresh olive oil, walnuts, chestnuts but also fresh fish such as trout and salmon. Then we will make our way to the bridge and the river banks Beaver with hiking trails through the Gorge with its lush vegetation, her chestnuts and walnuts.
