We are leaving for the Three-Day Excursion to Thessaloniki 07.30 in the morning by consensus. We stop for coffee at the height of Agios Kostantinos and continue to Larissa, where we will have our lunch with (individual expenses). Then we take the road to Thessaloniki, where we will visit the Monastery of Elder Paisios in Souroti. In the Monastery we find the relics of Ag. Arsenius of Cappadocia. (All ladies who wish to visit the monastery should wear a skirt or dress. Men long pants because the monastery does not provide clothing), we continue for a pilgrimage to the tomb of Ag. Paisiou and we return to the center of Thessaloniki to arrange the rooms at the Anessis Hotel in the center of Thessaloniki. Finally, we will have free time for a walk and a tour of the city center or an evening out for anyone who wishes.
After our breakfast through a historically important route, we visit Rupel forts. They were the defensive fortresses along the Greek-Bulgarian border, with shelters 1849 meters and arcades 4251 meters. When the Germans entered the Rupel, they found the message written in chalk on a wall: ( At Thermopylae were killed 300, here will fall the 80 ). There were so many Greeks who manned the specific sector. After the end of our visit we head to Lake Kerkini. The lake is one of them 10 Wetlands of International Importance of Greece with rare biodiversity, according to the Ramsar Convention. Free time for walking follows, boating, coffee and bird watching, because it is considered the ultimate destination hosting more than 300 species of birds. Enjoy the traditional specialties with rich and "different" local dishes, such as buffalo, deer, wild boar, leg of lamb, depending on your preference with (individual expenses). In the afternoon we return to our hotel unit and it follows( Optional exit to the oil shops with individual expenses). Overnight stay.
Breakfast and day is dedicated to the Nymph of Thermaikos, Thessaloniki. We start our tour with the symbol of the city, which is none other than the White Tower. A few meters down we find the statue of Alexander the Great and the umbrellas of Zongolopoulos, the visual work that tends to become the new reference point of Thessaloniki. We continue with a pilgrimage to the magnificent church of Agios Dimitrios, followed by free time to "take" a seat to watch the 11:00 about, the military parade of the armed forces accompanied by motorized weapons and tanks. After the end of the parade we will have time to enjoy the beauties of the city of Thessaloniki and of course to try ,its famous traditional sweets such as Panorama triangles, stuffed bun and her famous unique bougatsa. Free time for one last walk, lunch and shopping in the co-capital (individual expenses) and we conclude our tour at the "Nymph of Thermaikos. Finally we take the way back to Athens with intermediate stops and the best images and moments from the excursion to Thessaloniki on October 28.
