🎄 CHRISTMAS IN MAGNIFICENT OHRID!
This Christmas we leave the everyday behind and travel to one of the most atmospheric destinations in the Balkans! Byzantine Ohrid awaits us on the shores of its beautiful lake, with picturesque cobblestones, traditional houses, historic churches, imposing castles and unique landscapes that look like they were taken from a Christmas fairy tale.
On a special 4-day trip, we will get to know the magical Ohrid, we will tour the historic Bitola, we will visit the impressive monastery of Osiou Naum and enjoy the serenity of Lake Ohrid. We will walk in beautiful Struga, we will discover the history and culture of the region and have the opportunity to experience the unique atmosphere of Christmas in the Balkans.

We leave for the excursion to Byzantine Ohrid on 06:00 in the morning from Omonia, with a first stop at the height of Lamia for coffee. Then we continue with a stopover for lunch (optionally). Then we end up at the border station of Niki. Free time at the Greek Duty Free and, after passing the customs station of Skopje, visit to Bitola city, where we will see the old Greek mansions, the church of Agios Dimitrios and the bazaar. Arrival, check in at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
After our breakfast we depart for the beautiful city of Ohrid, nestled on the shore of the lake. In Byzantine Ohrid we will visit the ancient "Lychindos", which was baptized Ohrid (and the Slavic meaning is "city on the hill"). There we will have time to admire the old town with the picturesque houses that have red roofs and are built on the hill of the peninsula, where the lake dominates, and the Byzantine church of Agios Clements. Then we will visit the Cathedral of Hagia Sophia, where it was built 1035, and we will continue our tour in the old town of Ohrid, on the cobblestones, the old Greek mansions and the Castle of Tsar Samuel, with small shops and items of folk art. The outdoor cafes, the picturesque cobbled streets, the small shops and the elegant boutiques, the rustic ones combined with the restaurants, they win impressions. There we will have free time for shopping and lunch (optionally). Then return to the hotel for rest, buffet dinner and overnight stay.
After our breakfast we depart and, following a lakeside route, we are led to the magnificent Byzantine monastery of Osiou Naum, on the south side of the lake, with amazing frescoes from the 10th century. The whole area was the seat of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese. From there the monks Cyril and Methodius set out to teach the Slavs the alphabet and the Bible. The legend wants his heart to still be heard beating normally, listening carefully over one's grave. We continue for the optional cruise on Lake Ohrid (at personal expense). The lake is considered the deepest in the Balkans and is a protected wetland. It is a physics, tectonic lake that belongs to the oldest lakes in the world, three million years old. In the afternoon we recommend a walk to Struga and the Drim River, so you can enjoy your coffee in one of the many cafes, combined with a beautiful landscape. Then return for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast we will make our way back through the border station of Niki and Florina, with intermediate stops for coffee and food (at personal expense). In the evening we arrive in Athens, with the best impressions from the excursion to Byzantine Ohrid.
