Excursion to Northern Spain, the Basque Country

Meeting at the airport for the Northern Spain Basque Country Tour and flight to Bilbao. Arrival and departure for our final destination the once royal resort of San Sebastián. Check in at the hotel and later we will take a first walk, for a first contact, στο ιστορικό κέντρο της πόλης, to taste some of the famous pintxos accompanied by the local txakoli wine in the many bars/restaurants located in its narrow streets.

After breakfast we will start our city tour. we start our walk in the city from Miramar Park and then we go up to Monte Igueldo where we will have a panoramic view of the city and the amazing La Concha beach . Kατεβαίνοντας θα δούμε το Χτένι του Ανέμου , ένα γλυπτό στην άκρη του κόλπου του διάσημου Βάσκου γλύπτη Eduardo Chillida. Κατόπιν θα περιπλανηθούμε στην πόλη του San Sebastián όπου θα δούμε το Δημαρχείο (former casino), the Cathedral , the bridge over the river Urumea, closed and open squares, the famous Maria Christina Hotel , the Victoria Eugenia Theater and the modern Kursaal Music Hall – conference center. Then free time in which we are invited to indulge in the city's gastronomy.

After breakfast we leave for France and specifically for the French Basque Country, first we will stop at the beautiful Saint Jean de Luz and from there we will end up at Biarritz. Magnificent buildings ,beaches, celebrity guests and surfers from around the world piece together the puzzle of the cosmopolitan resort on the Spanish border. Basic selection of the Russian aristocracy by the year 1917 which left its mark with the Russian Orthodox Church opposite the famous Hôtel du Palais a palace – hotel that adorns Loutropolis. Walk and time to eat, coffee and for anyone wishing to visit the Musée de la Mer. Free afternoon in San Sebastián.

After breakfast we start for the region of Rioja Alavesa, which is famous for the production of wine under the PDO Rioja, την διεθνώς διάσημη και πιο παλιά της Ισπανίας. Visit to a local winery. Then we leave for Vitoria-Gasteiz, the capital of the Basque Country. The city was proclaimed <<European Green Capital>> for the 2012. Arrival and check-in at the hotel. Later we will walk to its historic center where we will pass the Plaza de la Virgen Blanca , the Cathedral of Santa Maria and the Plaza España, the classic closed square of the city.

Μετά το πρωινό θα αναχωρήσουμε για την Gernika όπου θα έχουμε την ευκαιρία να επισκεφτούμε το χωριό το οποίο έγινε διάσημο από τον πίνακα – Σύμβολο Παγκόσμιας Ειρήνης του Pablo Picasso με τον ομώνυμο τίτλο. Το θέμα του είναι ο βομβαρδισμός της πόλης κατά την διάρκεια του Ισπανικού εμφυλίου και συγκεκριμένα το 1937 from the Condor Legion of the Luftwaffe which was in the service of the Frankish troops. Εκεί θα μπορέσουμε να επισκεφτούμε και την αίθουσα σύγκλισης της αντιπροσωπευτικής συνέλευσης της Βισκαΐας και το ιστορικό σύμβολο που είναι το δέντρο της Gernika όπου από τον εντέκατο αιώνα έως και σήμερα τοπικοί φεουδάρχες, βασιλείς και πρόεδροι της Χώρας των Βάσκων ορκίζονται σεβασμό προς τους νόμους της Στην επιστροφή μας στο Bilbao θα κάνουμε επίσκεψη στο αριστουργηματικό Μουσείο Μοντέρνας Τέχνης Guggenheim που βρίσκεται κατά μήκος του ποταμού Nervion. Which of the 1997 αποτέλεσε την κορωνίδα της μετάλλαξης της πόλης του Bilbao από μία άκρως βιομηχανική πόλη σε μία πόλη παροχής υπηρεσιών και τουρισμού. Bilbao managed to <<get married >> τα παλαιά νεοκλασικά κτήρια αναδεικνύοντάς τα, με τις μοντέρνες αρχιτεκτονικές κατασκευές των διάσημων αρχιτεκτόνων Norman Foster, Frank Gery , Calatrava , Isozaki and Phillip Stark.

Πρωινό και σας προτείνουμε προαιρετικά την εκδρομή στην Cantabria. Αναχώρηση για το Comillas όπου θα επισκεφτούμε το Capricho του Gaudí, ένα από τα λίγα αρχιτεκτονικά έργα που έχει κάνει εκτός της Καταλονίας. Then we will go to Santillana del Mar (the city of three lies ) where we will visit the museum and research center of Altamira where there is a replica of its cave, which contains important historical cave paintings . Then time for lunch in picturesque Santillana del Mar. Then we will visit the peninsula of Magdalena where there is a municipal park in which there is also a royal palace - summer residence with an amazing view of the Cantabrian sea and the city of Santander, capital of the autonomous community of Cantabria. Στάση για καφέ στο κέντρο του Santander. Επιστροφή αργά το απόγευμα στο ξενοδοχείο.
