We depart for the Excursion to the Lakes of Glory and Stymfalia 08.00 the Morning by consensus. After an intermediate stop for coffee, we will arrive at the Stymphalia Museum to admire exhibits, which highlight the interdependence of man and nature. Then we take the road to Lake Stymphalia which is considered one of the most important wetlands in the Peloponnese. The Lake is a haven for many protected and migratory bird species. Then we end up at the artificial Lake of Glory located in Feneo of Corinthia, in altitude 900 meters. There we will have time for photos, to tour and admire the small church of Agios Fanourios located in the center of the lake. Then we head to the village of Kastania. Free time for lunch with (personal expenses) and early afternoon departure for our Athens with a stopover for coffee.

The birds were man-eaters with copper beaks, claws and wings hidden in the thick lakeside vegetation.Heracles, with the precious help of the goddess Athena, prevailed in their battle, but he failed to exterminate the whole herd with his arrows, as some birds escaped to the island of Aretia, present-day Giresun, Turkey, in the Black Sea.
