Lake Doxa is located in mountainous Corinthia and is one of the most beautiful destinations in the Peloponnese. The green landscape, the mountains that surround it and its calm waters create a unique setting reminiscent of images from the Alps.
A special point of the lake is the picturesque church of Agios Fanourios, which is located on a small strip of land in the water and is an ideal spot for a walk and photos.
Lake Stymphalia uniquely combines natural beauty with Greek mythology. It is known as the place where, according to legend, Hercules faced the Stymphalian Hens in the sixth of his twelve labors.
At the same time, is a particularly important mountain wetland, hosting many species of birds and offering a distinct natural landscape.
A one-day excursion that combines nature, mythology, beautiful landscapes and unique images!
We depart at 08:00 in the morning from Omonia with destination Lake Stymfalia and Lake Doxa. On our route we will make an intermediate stop for coffee.
Our first stop is the Stymphalian Environment Museum, where we will have the opportunity to get to know through its exhibits the close relationship of man with nature and the special environment of the area.
Next, we are heading towards Lake Stymphalia, one of the most important wetlands in the Peloponnese and a refuge for many protected and migratory bird species.
Then we depart for the beautiful artificial Lake Doxa, in Feneo of Corinth, at an altitude of approx 900 meters. There we will have free time for a walk, photos and visit to the picturesque church of Agios Fanourios, located inside the lake.
Next, we will have time for our lunch at a local restaurant (individual expenses).
In the early afternoon we will take the road back to Athens, making a stopover for coffee.
