We leave for the Excursion to Ioannina 08.00 in the morning by consensus. Our first coffee stop will be in Kiato. Then we take the road to Bizani where we will have an optional visit to the wax museum. The Museum revives unique historical memories from the hidden school of Ali Pasha and Mrs. Frosiny. Then we continue to Ioannina and head straight to the lake, where we cross by boat to the island of Kyra-Frosini. There we will have time for a walk and a visit to the house where Ali Pasha was killed, as well as lunch (Optional) in a local tavern with the area by tasting a unique traditional dish the famous ones (frog legs). Return to Ioannina with an optional visit to the city's castle, Fetihe Mosque, the Tomb of Ali Pasha and the Byzantine Museum. For those who wish, we recommend a visit to the Silversmithing Museum, in Its Calais, in the acropolis of Ioannina. Finally, we arrive at the hotel, settling in and staying the night.
After breakfast we depart for Central Zagori. Our first visit will be to the Holy Monastery of the Nativity of the Virgin, the famous Monastery of Asprangelon. The Monastery was built in 1470 and is located 23 kilometers North of Ioannina, in altitude 880 meters overlooking the plain of Zitsa. Holy relics of various saints are kept in the monastery, but also the miraculous icon of Panagia Odegetria (Asprageliotissa), which was found after an earthquake in the year 2016 in the alcove of the Holy step. Then we take the road to the picturesque village of Zagori and Monodenri, dominated by the ravine of Vikos. In the village square beyond our cafe, we can also try the best Zagori pittas. We then return to the city of Ioannina with free time at our disposal for sightseeing and lunch. Return to the hotel at whatever time you wish ,where they are in the city for Overnight
After our breakfast we will depart for Metsovo. The region of the same name is famous for its handicrafts and handicrafts. Metsovo has preserved monuments which we can visit (Optionally), such as the monastery of Theotokos near the Metsovitiko river, the Folklore Museum of the Tositsa Foundation (Tositsa mansion) and the Averof Gallery where they are exhibited 250 paintings by notable painters of the 19th and 20th centuries. In Metsovo we will also have free time for coffee in the paved square. Finally, return to Athens with a stopover for lunch and coffee.
