We depart for the Meteora Kalambaka and Pyli Excursion 08.00 in the morning from Omonia. Our first stop for coffee is at the height of Lamia. Then we take the road to Trikala, which is the capital of the prefecture, city of Asclepios and Tsitsanis. There we will have free time to tour and admire the Litheos river, the Kursum mosque and walk the pedestrian streets. We recommend an optional lunch at the old greengrocers with traditional recipes. Then we depart for Kalambaka, a modern city with picturesque squares, open roads and developed tourist infrastructure. In Kalambaka we settle into the rooms of the Rex Hotel 3* in the city center with Free time for rest. In the evening we recommend you to browse the town with its many tourist shops ,of illuminated broadsides, bars and cafes.
After our breakfast we will depart for the magical Meteora. Meteora is a priceless landscape created by Nature. The view of the rocks is awe-inspiring , combined with human achievements on the craggy peaks. In Meteora we will visit the Transfiguration Monastery and the Women's Monastery of Agios Stefanos. Then we leave for the mountain resorts of Pindos, ending up through a wonderful route in the villages of Koziakas. There we will visit the beautiful Gate and the Porta Panagia Monastery which was built in 1283 on the ruins of the temple of the goddess Athena. Then we continue to Elati, the Switzerland of Greece as they call it. The fir tree is built amphitheatrically at an altitude 900 meters, in the shadow of the imposing Red Rock, moreover, it is one of the most popular mountain resorts in Greece. there we will have free time for lunch in the traditional taverns of the village. Finally we will take the road back to Athens with the best impressions from the Meteora Kalambaka and Pyli excursion.
