We leave for the excursion to Kavala Thassos 07:00 in the morning from Omonia. We make a stop at the height of Lamia for coffee and then head to the height of Larissa where we will have a stop for lunch. Later departure for horseback riding and settling in the rooms of our hotel unit. In the afternoon we will get to know Kavala a little and we will tour its beautiful castle. Kavala is one of the most beautiful cities in Greece amphitheatrically built with oriental culture, picturesque port, Roman aqueduct and the famous Imaret, its arches and the lighthouse. The view from the Castle is panoramic so we suggest you enjoy an afternoon coffee combined with a beautiful natural phenomenon. Finally return for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast we leave for Keramoti. There we board the ferry to go to magical Thassos. The lush vegetation and the wonderful beaches with fine sand make up a magical image. Arrival at Limenas and departure for the round of the island. Passing by Prino we continue to Limenaria and from there to the historic Monastery of Archangelos where we will have time for a visit. We complete our route with a visit to the famous Golden Beach. There we will stay for swimming and lunch. In the afternoon boarding the ferry and going to Keramoti and then to our hotel in Kavala. Dinner and Overnight.
After our breakfast we will depart for the southern coastline of the area and the lagoon of Porto Lagos. The two elements that one admires when coming to Porto Lagos are on the one hand the crowds of pink flamingos that swim in the waters of the area and on the other hand the monastery of Agios Nikolaos. The Epivlite water landscape gives the impression that it is floating on a small island. Thrace is known for its inland beauties, however, it is not far behind charming beaches such as that of Arogi, which today we will visit and have the opportunity to swim in its beautiful waters. There we will also enjoy our lunch with ( Individual Expenses ). End Return for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast we depart for the Archaeological Site of Philippi, seventeen kilometers from Kavala, there we also find the ancient city of Philippi. The first contact with the space was made on 1861 and completed the 1956 by Greek archaeologists. Important finds are the Egnatia street, the ruins of the Roman Agora, the "prison" of the Apostle Paul, as well as the ancient theater which has a circular orchestra and isostructurally built parados. There is the Apostle Paul, in an idyllic location outside the city, on the banks of the Zygactis river, baptized the first European Christian woman, Saint Lydia and founded the first Christian church in Europe. Then we make our way back to Athens with a stopover for lunch and coffee.
