We are leaving for the Four-Day Excursion to Kavala 07.00 in the morning by consensus. Our first coffee stop will be at the height of Lamia. Then we continue for the height of Larissa, where we will have our lunch with (individual expenses). Later arrival at our hotel Esperia Hotel 3* for arrangement in the rooms and rest. In the afternoon we will depart for a tour of beautiful Kavala, which is one of the most beautiful cities in Greece amphitheatrically built admiring sights such as the Castle, the picturesque harbor and the Roman aqueduct. During our Tour we will also see Imaret, Mehmet Ali's house ,the arches and the lighthouse. The view from the Castle is panoramic creating and giving us a dreamy image during the Christmas season. We suggest you enjoy your afternoon coffee there combined with the magical Thea. Finally return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
After our breakfast, we will leave for Drama and the fairytale "Dream City" giving ourselves the ultimate Christmas fairy tale. Dreamtown is full of fairies, elves, reindeer, goblins, snowmen but also hundreds of different artistic events and thematic workshops. The wooden houses that host a multitude of free activities for young children and adults have rich dishes that are prepared every day in the market houses. Santa Claus, the roller coasters ,the wonderful ice rink, the enchanting carousel and the dreamy decoration of the fairytale village make Oniroupolis a corner of Christmas Wonderland. After a festive day, return to the hotel, rest and in the evening we are waiting for you for the festive dinner, accompanied by dj music and lots of dancing and mood.
After breakfast, we depart for the southern coastline of the region and the lagoon known as Porto Lagos. The two things to admire when visiting Porto Lagos are the multitudes of pink flamingos swimming in the waters and the monastery of Agios Nikolaos. The waterscape gives the impression that it is floating, as it stands on the small island. Then we visit Xanthi, ( the city of a thousand colors ) as they call her. Xanthi is amphitheatrically built in the embrace of green hills and stands out for its picturesque cobbled streets, the restored mansions and traditional buildings that combine local and Ottoman architecture. There we will have free time to explore the Christmas town, dominated by an impressive towering Christmas tree, but also the Christmas manger with the Divine Child. At a distance of a few meters, young and old alike will have the opportunity to enter the fairytale world of Euchoupoli. Visit the house of the elves and Santa Claus and have your photo taken with him. Try traditional sweets from traditional clubs and experience moments of joy and carelessness. In the "snowy" village of Euchoupoli you will find small fir trees and another fairytale setting offered by the magical city of Xanthi. We end our day with a return to our hotel unit, dinner and overnight stay.
After our breakfast, we will depart for the Archaeological Site of Philippi which is just a short distance away 17 kilometers from Kavala. The first contact with the space was made on 1861 and completed the 1956 by Greek archaeologists. Important finds are the Egnatia street, the ruins of the Roman Agora, the "prison" of the Apostle Paul, as well as the ancient theater which has a circular orchestra and parados built in an isostructural manner. There the Apostle Paul baptized the first European Christian woman, Agia Lydia on the banks of the Zygactis river and founded the first Christian church in Europe.
