We are leaving for the Excursion to Nafplio 08:30 the Morning from Omonia. Our first stop will be in Spathovuni for coffee and breakfast. Then we continue to the Mythical Nafplio which historically was the first capital of our Greece. In Nafplio we will have a free schedule with five and a half hours at our disposal to browse its picturesque narrow streets and get to know its hidden gems and its history. Tour Syntagma Square, enjoy the magical view of Bourtzi and test your limits by climbing the mythical Palamidi,Also combine the beautiful view of the Nafplio marina with a coffee or your lunch with (individual expenses). Finally, after a full day, we take the road back to Athens with the best impressions from the Excursion to Nafplio.
Excursion to Nafplio:
Nafplion is one of the most beautiful cities of mainland Greece. It is only a two-hour drive from Athens, it is also characterized by its intense medieval atmosphere. A walk through the narrow cobbled streets of the Old Town is like a trip back in time. On top of a hill above Nafplion, the powerful Palamidi fortress is located with a stunning view of the sea. At the entrance of the harbor there is a small island with a fortress that served to protect the city from naval attacks. Nafplio, Greece is a popular weekend destination all year round, while the wonderful seaside resorts make it a great place for summer holidays as well.
Bourtzi in Nafplio is popular as the city's impressive fortress. The Turkish name Burji, means Tower and attracts many visitors throughout the year. Antonio Gambello was the architect who built the castle 1471 on this tiny island in front of the port of Nafplio, although its construction was completed by the engineer Brancaleone. The design was specially made to fit the narrow shape of the island. The whole city was fortified 1473 from the Venetians, mainly for protection against pirates. The castle, with entrances to the north and south, it has three floors connected by moving stairs.

After this period, your money will not be refunded or transferred to another excursion.
