We leave for the Excursion to Ioannina 08.00 in the morning by consensus. Our first coffee stop will be in Kiato. Then we take the road to Bizani where we will have an optional visit to the wax museum. The Museum revives unique historical memories from the hidden school of Ali Pasha and Mrs. Frosiny. Then we continue to Ioannina and head straight to the lake, where we cross by boat to the island of Kyra-Frosini. There we will have time for a walk and a visit to the house where Ali Pasha was killed, as well as lunch (Optional) in a local tavern with the area by tasting a unique traditional dish the famous ones (frog legs). After our breakfast we leave for Konitsa. Πρώτος μας σταθμός είναι το Καλπάκι, where we will visit the war museum with the reenactment of the Battle of Kalpaki. Next is the village of Molyvdoskepasti, built on a slope of Mount Memertika on the Greek-Albanian border. There we will visit Panagia Molyvdoskepasti, one of the most important monuments of the 7th century located four hundred meters from the Greek-Albanian border. Then we continue to the town of Konitsa where we will have an optional visit to the house of Agios Paisios. The House is Perched on a cobblestone, in the center of Konitsa, Ioannina, where he lived since he was a child. Entering the house one will see the hall, a small sitting room and a small room in which you feel a strange peace. The whole family slept there. We continue our tour in Konitsa where we will have free time for coffee and food. The area has many stone bridges, one of them is the Konitsa bridge (or Voidomati) of 1853 where we will admire from close to the banks of the river Voidomatis, which crosses one of the most beautiful locations in Greece, which has been designated a National Park by 1973. Τέλος αργά το απόγευμα επιστρέφουμε στο ξενοδοχείο μας για ξεκούραση και δείπνο. Το βράδυ θα παρακολουθήσουμε στο πασίγνωστο τοπικό έθιμο Τζαμάλες, όπου σε όλη την πόλη των Ιωαννίνων, ανάβουν πάνω από 70 τεράστιες φωτιές, γύρω από τις οποίες οι ντόπιοι και όλοι εμείς φυσικά- χορεύουν, γλεντούν, πίνουν και κερνούν. Το έθιμο κρατάει από τα χρόνια της τουρκοκρατίας, όπου οι φωτιές αντιπροσώπευαν το πάθος των ντόπιων για απελευθέρωση, σαν τις φωτιές που έκαιγαν μέσα τους. Από το πρωί μικρά παιδιά γύριζαν όλη την πόλη μαζεύοντας ότι κλαδί και ξύλο μπορούσαν να βρούν, ώστε η “ Τζαμάλα της γειτονιάς τους να καίει δυνατότερα από κάθε άλλη! overnight.
Μετά το πρωινό θα αναχωρήσουμε για τη Ναύπακτο, τη ξακουστή βασίλισσα του Κορινθιακού. Εκεί θα έχουμε ελεύθερο χρόνο για βόλτα, περιήγηση και εννοείται να απολαύσουμε τα παραδοσιακά Κούλουμα στα πολυάριθμα μαγαζιά, με φόντο το επιβλητικό μεσαιωνικό κάστρο. Αργά το μεσημέρι θα πάρουμε το δρόμο της επιστροφής με ενδιάμεση στάση για καφέ και της καλύτερες αναμνήσεις από το αποκριάτικο ταξίδι στα Γιάννενα.
