Our last day in Zanzibar is dedicated to total relaxation. We make the most of every moment on Kendwa beach and enjoy the comforts of our hotel. For our own maximum comfort, we keep our rooms available acc’ throughout the day (full day use), allowing us to freshen up and rest before the journey. Just after midnight (00:30, Friday morning 8 August), we will be checked-out and transferred to the airport. The return flight, with a stopover in Addis Ababa, will bring us back to Athens on Friday afternoon or evening. We return with our suitcases full of Indian sun, the best impressions and memories that will remain indelible.

The period 1/8 with 8/8 is the ultimate High Season for Zanzibar. Due to ideal weather conditions and extremely high demand, early booking is essential to ensure availability in paradise.

Possibility of optional excursions from Kendwa Beach
During our stay at Kendwa Beach (Days 4-7), we will be able to enrich our program with exciting optional excursions. Our hotel or local agent can help us with reservations.

1. Prison Island (Prison Island)
A short boat trip from the coast will take us to Prison Island (or Changuu Island). Even though it was once intended for a prison (which ultimately never worked as such), the island today hosts a unique sanctuary for giant Abrahamic tortoises (Giant tortoise door frame), some of which are over 100 years. We will have the opportunity to feed and photograph these impressive creatures. The excursion is often combined with swimming and snorkeling in the surrounding waters.

2. Safari Blue
Undoubtedly one of the most popular sea tours in Zanzibar. The “Safari Blue” is a full day experience starting from Fumba Village. We board traditional dhows and explore the Menai Bay Conservation Area. The program includes:
• Snorkeling on reefs with incredible marine life.
• Visiting remote sandy beaches and islets.
• Rich BBQ meal with fresh seafood and fish served on one of the islands.
• The possibility to swim in a natural mangrove lagoon (mangrove lagoon).

3. Jozani Forest & The Rock Restaurant
We can combine a visit to the unique Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park, home to the rare and endemic red Colobus monkey, with lunch at the iconic restaurant “The Rock”. The restaurant is literally on a rock in the sea, at Pingwe Beach. Advance booking is absolutely required, especially during peak season, and access is on foot (at low tide) or by boat (at high tide).

4. Spice Tour (Spice Tour)
Visit to the sources of Zanzibar's wealth. On this excursion, we will walk through active plantations and see how spices like cloves are grown, the cinnamon, the pepper, vanilla and nutmeg. It is an educational and aromatic experience that gives another dimension to the trip.

5. One Day Fly-In Safari in Nyerere National Park
For those looking for the ultimate adventure, we offer the possibility of a one-day escape in the heart of the African savannah. The Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous), the largest protected wildlife reserve in Africa, waiting for us to discover it.

The Experience Program:
• Flight over the Indian Ocean: The day begins with an early morning transfer to Zanzibar airport and a short, spectacular flight to mainland Tanzania, offering a panoramic view of the archipelago.
• Adventure with 4×4: Upon arrival at Mtemere airstrip, ride in open jeeps 4×4 specially designed for safari. Accompanied by an experienced guide, you will roam unspoiled lands in search of the "Big Five" and other iconic animals of Africa, like elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, hippos and the rare African wild dogs.
• Bush Lunch: At noon, you will enjoy an authentic picnic lunch (bush lunch) in the wild, surrounded by the sounds and beauty of the park.
• Return to Paradise: After a full day of exploring, you will be transferred back to the airstrip for your return flight to Zanzibar, arriving at your hotel in Kendwa at sunset time.
