Το Serifos Beach Hotel, is located in Livadi Serifos, by the sea. Location Livadi is a beautiful seaside settlement with white cube houses built according to traditional Cycladic architecture and with small fishing boats floating in the waves.
We are leaving for the Excursion Serifos and Sifnos 5.45 in the morning from Omonia to the port of Piraeus. We board the ferry to Serifos with arrival at the port of 11.20 in the morning. After disembarking we head to our Serifos Beach hotel located in Livadi. Livadi is ideal for walks while just a few meters from the jetty, they are brown, fish taverns and patisseries on the beach. After settling into the hotel unit we will have free time, for swimming at the nearby beach, food and rest . In the afternoon departure for Chora tis Serifos, which is built amphitheatrically on a rocky hill. It consists of two neighborhoods, Pano and Kato Chora, which are joined by steps. A scene set in absolute harmony connected to each other by alleys that lead to the ruins of the Venetian Castle, where it was built 1434 from the Mikieli family. At the highest point of the rock is the church of Agios Konstantinos. From here the visitor can admire the Aegean Sea that stretches out in front of him and the surrounding islands (Sifnos Kythnos, Apple and Lime). We continue to the Old Laundry or Aqueduct. It is a white building with arches from the 19th century. From this, Kato Chora also got water in its troughs, the housewives were washing their clothes. To get to the building we will walk a 5 minute path. Then we will visit the Mills, which are a characteristic ornament of the Cyclades! We leave Chora and continue to the Taxiarchon Monastery in the northern part of the island, near the village of Galani. This men's monastery was built in 1572. The building has a fortress character while the Monastery is dedicated to the Archangels Michael and Gabriel. Relative stay for visiting and pilgrimage and free time to explore the scenic countryside for a drink or lunch. Finally return and overnight stay
After our breakfast we start to get to know the southwest side of the island. Our first stop is Aspros Pyrgos, the oldest tower of the island with a panoramic view. Next to it is a small church dedicated to Agios Charalambos. Then we take the road to Megalo Livadi, a settlement created when the exploitation of the island's metals was at its peak. Here they transferred the 1890 the company's offices “Serifos Spiliazeza”, which exploited the island's mines and was housed in a neoclassical building, the ruins of which still stand at the edge of the beach testifying to a glorious past. A short distance away is the monument to the miners who lost their lives in his rebellion 1916, in a bloody conflict which remains one of the most important of the labor movement in Greece. We continue to one of the most famous beaches of the island, Psili Ammos, which has been awarded the 2003 as the most beautiful beach in Europe! There We will have free time for swimming and lunch (optionally). After our meal, we return to the hotel with free time and overnight stay.
After our Breakfast, we leave at 09.00 for the one-day excursion to Sifnos. Arrival at 10.30 in the morning at Kamares where they are 6,5 kilometers from Apollonia, which is the port of Sifnos and the largest coastal settlement of the island. Between the two areas stretches the beach of Kamares, one of the most beautiful sandy beaches of the island with virgin vegetation, reed beds, coastal lake and dunes with sand lilies blooming in August. The beach is awarded every year by FEE with the Blue Flag of the European Union. Meets all program criteria (cleanliness, organization, bathing water quality, security, life preservers, first aid, services and facilities ) From Kamares begins a path that passes by the sanctuary of the Nymphs and leads to the Black Cave, with the facilities of the old mines. In Sifnos we will have free time to explore the island and enjoy swimming on its blue-green beach, anyone who wishes can have their lunch there with (Individual Expenses) . At 16.45 We leave Sifnos and return by boat to Serifos, free time and overnight stay.
After our breakfast and after gathering with our luggage, we leave for Pano Piazza which is the most central and busiest point of Ano Chora. In the central and paved square is the neoclassical building of the Town Hall from 1908 and the imposing church of Ag. Athanasiou which is the metropolis of Serifos. Here, we will enjoy our coffee and have free time for some last local shopping and sightseeing. Then, we will continue for Koutalas. It is a coastal settlement on the southwest side of Serifos, which was developed during the exploitation of the mines and was the mining center of the island. The stone-built houses still stand along the beach, where the miners were stacked. Some of them have now been reconstructed and are used as summer residences. The settlement also has the homonymous beach, with sand and pebbles and countless tamarisks that generously give their shade. Here we will enjoy the sea and our lunch (optionally). At 14.30 we board the boat to the port of Piraeus. 19.30 we disembark in Piraeus and return to our Athens.
