We leave for the Excursion to Malevi Monastery and Kastanou Festival 07.30 in the morning from Omonia. We make a stop with time for coffee in Spathovuni and continue to the Malevi Monastery where we will have a stay and time for a pilgrimage. Then we will visit the mountain village of Ano Doliana, known for its rich chestnut production! There is a big "chestnut festival". which we have the opportunity to enjoy. The green landscape is unique in combination with the various types of food, such as chestnuts with tsipouro, wine and food while listening to folk music. During our stay in the village we will have the opportunity to visit the Christofili house which functions as a museum of the area. The 1821 the Dolianites, led by Nikitaras, marched and victoriously chased the Turks. In the afternoon we take the road back to our Athens with an intermediate stop for coffee.
