Gathering at the airport El. Venizelos for the Excursion Austria Bavaria and Munich and flight to Munich, the capital of Bavaria. We will start our tour from Marienplatz, the central square of Munich, which was manufactured 1158. In it is the New City Hall or Neues Rathaus, one of the most imposing buildings in the city known for its ornate facade with sculptural decorations. We will admire the Frauenkirche, the imposing Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Munich, with the two famous steeples of height 99 meters, where the melody is also located, unique art clock bearing the name Glockenspiel. The church of Ag. Peter with the tower that offers a unique view of the city from the height of 91 meters. We will admire the Residenz palace, which was manufactured 1385, the Munich Opera house housed in a 17th century Baroque architectural marvel and the Nymphenburg Palace, also known as "Nymph's Castle". Late afternoon departure for Salzburg. Arrival at our hotel and settling in the rooms. Overnight.
Breakfast and departure for the unique village of Hallstatt. It is built on a steep bank of the homonymous lake (Hallstättersee), in altitude 508 meters and is the most photographed village in the Alps. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is famous for its salt mines. We will see the Central Marktplatz Square, the Hallstatt Museum of Cultural Heritage, the Church of Christ and the Chapel of Ag. Michael. Board the coach and return to Salzburg, the Rome of the Alps, as the locals call it. Its name means "Castle built of salt" and it is the birthplace of Mozart. The city became even more famous internationally when the movie "Melody of Happiness" was filmed on the green slopes of Salzburg, of 5 Oscar. The old town of Salzburg (Old town) is one of the largest UNESCO World Heritage Sites in terms of area and is, literally, an outdoor baroque museum. We will walk through the Altstadt, we will see Mozart's house which serves as a museum and relics of Mozart's childhood, but also some of the instruments on which he composed his music. We will see the fairytale Salzburg Castle, of the 11th century, one of the largest in Europe. We will see the magnificent Mirabell palaces that were built in 1606 with the royal garden reminiscent of a painting and the city's Cathedral, which was first built 774 m. X. and hosts the huge swimming pool in which Mozart was baptized. We will taste the famous Zachertorte in imperial cafes, such as that of the Zacher Hotel or the Tomaselli Cafe operated by 1703! Arrival at our hotel and overnight stay.
Breakfast at our hotel and departure for Innsbruck, built on the banks of the river Inn from which it takes its name (Innsbruck means bridge over the river Inn). We will walk through the old town (Old town) that keeps the tall houses, the narrow streets ,but also some wonderful medieval buildings with their traditional architecture. We will see the medieval Ottoburg building with its characteristic white and red shutters, the 15th-century baroque Helbling Haus building with its ornate rococo exterior sculptural decoration. In the central triangular square of the old town and opposite the Helbling Haus is one of the most photographed sights, Innsbruck city landmark, the Golden Roof. It is a balcony on the third floor of the building and is made of 2.657 fireproof gilded tiles. Built in the 15th century in honor of Emperor Maximilian I , for his marriage to Bianca Maria Sorza. From this balcony the kings watched the events taking place in the square and addressed the people. On the same road, Herzog-Friedrich-Strasse, today filled with beautiful shops and restaurants, there is still a wonderful painted building of the 16th c.. It is the building called the Golden Eagle (Golden Eagle), with the exterior superb historic masonry dating from 1390. We will still see the Innsbruck Tower, the Stadtturm, height 137 meters with the 133 stairs. In the semicircular square of the old town, surrounded by a ring road, which are known as Graben, we will admire the imposing Cathedral of St. Jacob's 1724 with its twin Towers and tall dome visible in the distance. We will walk along the pedestrian street Maria-Theresien Strasse with its shops and wonderful buildings, where we will see the Column of Ag. Annas and the Hospital Church of the Holy Spirit Innsbruck painted in the characteristic pink color. Departure in the afternoon for Munich. Arrival at our hotel and settling in the rooms. Overnight.
Breakfast at our hotel and free time in the city of Munich. Departure for Neusswanstein Castle (Neuschwanstein), in the Bavarian Alps. It is the most photographed Castle, since it was the inspiration for Disney's Castle. The Castle was built in the 19th century by Ludwig II of Bavaria, also known as the King of Fairy Tales, as a resting place and tribute to Richard Wagner. Board the coach and transfer to Munich airport. Return flight to Athens.
