We leave for the Excursion of the Holy Spirit in Neapoli Limeni Gytheio on 07.30 the Morning from Omonia. First stop in Spathovuni for coffee and rest. Then we depart for the beautiful Limeni, one of the most picturesque coastal villages of Laconia. Limeni is a true gem of Mani, where the traditional stone Mania architecture meets the crystal ones, emerald waters of the Messinian Gulf. We will have free time for lunch (individual expenses) and for swimming in the deep blue waters of the area. Then we continue to Gythio, a historical and particularly picturesque town of the southern Peloponnese. Built amphitheatrically at the eastern foothills of Mount Larisio, Gytheio is the most important port of the Laconic Gulf and the second largest port of the southern Peloponnese after Kalamata. Here we will have free time for coffee and a walk in the beautiful coastal town. Then we depart for Neapoli Laconia, where we will check in at the seaside hotel Limira Mare 3★.
Overnight stay.
After our breakfast at the hotel, we leave for the beautiful Elafonisos, one of the most impressive summer destinations in Greece. The island attracts a large number of visitors every year thanks to its enchanting sandy beaches and turquoise waters, its crystal clear waters. The capital of Elafonisos is the settlement of the same name, built on the northern end of the island. Our first destination is the famous beach of Simos, one of the most beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean. The landscape is characterized by fine golden sand, the shallow and transparent turquoise waters and the endless sandy beach that stretches over a large area joining two impressive beaches. The white sand and the exotic colors of the sea create a unique setting reminiscent of a tropical paradise. Inside the castle, Byzantine churches are preserved in excellent condition, old mansions of rich merchants, historic fountains, hammam and picturesque winding cobblestones, that keep the history of the settlement alive. From the Byzantine years up to the 19th century, Monemvasia played an important role in the history and economic development of the wider region. We will have free time to browse the picturesque alleys, bath and meal (individual expenses), enjoying the unique atmosphere of the castle town. Then we take the road back to Athens, making a stopover for coffee, full of beautiful images and the best impressions from a truly beautiful excursion.
